1:21 AM Mama was in the kitchen doing laundry when she noticed Dash woke up from his sleep. He had a startled look on his face and from that moment on, Mama became more vigilant. Sure enough, the bells started jingling and she looked over and saw that Dash started seizing. A grand mal; only this one was different from any that he has had before. This one seemed like he was in pain. He cried out through the whole episode. One long continuous cry. Not a yelp, not a bark… This brought Mama to a panic. Over the years she has learned how to control her emotions for Dash’s sake but this time she could not help but be a little frantic. When it was all done, she herself started to cry.
Dash’s actual seizure lasted only 2 minutes. Every minute feels like the longest ever when he is having a grand mal. His postictal phase started to subside after about 30 minutes.
Key factors that may have contributed:
-Full Flower Moon on the 31st of May. Also Saturn made an appearance in the night sky.
-There was large argument between a couple which caused Dash to worry.
-Amazon delivery person ignores our sign and decided to knock like the police and ring the doorbell several times. BTW we have rigged the doorbell to not ring, instead it buzzes but when pushed several times like that, it will throw off the blocker and cause it to ring.
